Application Rates : Basic Guidelines
Application timings are most suitable in late Autumn to Spring
1] Open Ground use
• Capital Dressing 1 tonne per hectare (100gr.per Sq M)
• Rates of up to 3 tonne/ha can be used when fully incorporated into 30cm soil depth
• Annual Top Dressing - Open ground 600 kg per hectare (60 gr.per Sq M) & up to 1.5t/ha p.a.
• (Replenishments) or as advised according to soil analysis
2] Greenhouse Soils
• 200 gr per m2 as initial application.
• Replenishments of 60 - 150gr between each crop and subject to soil analysis.
3] Domestic Garden Soils
• 200grams per m2 worked into soil.
• Top dressings of 100gr per m2
4] Compost manufacturing
• add minimum 2kg per m3 to accelerate composting activity.
5] Growing Media
• Seed Raising & Propagating Media 2 -3 kg per m3
• Potting Mixes & Composts 2 - 5 kg per m3
• Side dressing 2 - 5 gr per pot litre
Dusting
- Dusting with Basalt during crop cultivation is a recommended practice.
- Basalt is safe to foliage & flowers.
- Recommended rates are @ 300 - 500 grams per 100m2 of foliage area.
- Best time of application is early morning when there is dew on the foliage.
Spraying
- Spraying may be used to further benefit crop performance in general or be used to rapidly correct nutritional imbalances and to control crop ‘bolting’.
- (Agitating Membrane Pumps Only) @ 750gr. - 1kg per 100L water
